01.02 Other group members went directly to the department and spoke about all these. So, it is done now.

Hi Anna,

Please could you confirm whereabouts and the room number in Marconi these display boards are to be collected from and whereabouts they are to be delivered to in MAB.

Week 5

After the lecture we had a meeting with all the groups, to discuss our situation and sort out what to do. Later Me, Helen, Oliver and Eliot went to the education department to ask for the stands. They have some stands to lend us, but they are not very aesthetically pleasant :)
This problem now is sorted, the architecture department will lend us some of their stands.
We also thought about extra lightening and we thought that probably we will not need it.

This week I also was changing my business card as I was told to do, so here are my new examples. I made some experiments with the colours as well.

I added background colour to fill the white space.

I also tried different shade colours.

The inscription 'Product design' lost in this background.

Also, I found it quite big and decided to make 1 size smaller, also making the
colour of it for some shades darker

I am thinking to leave this variant. I also tried to make the title Product Design in very dark colour, but then my name and surname got lost.

Anna Lapo BIO

Born creative, Anna is showing her potential in her design works. Every work of her has a strong concept and moreover, satisfies needs and desires. Being experimental, she is playing with colours and shapes in her works, representing deep feelings and emotions in a way communicating with the viewers through design. Every single bits of work is a manifestation of the imagination, what brings amazing visual results. She is multilingual person, what is a part of her talants and helps to understand people and cultures, giving large possibilities to express herself in different ways. She is also musical and artistic what completes her creative personality. Developing her abilities for many years, she feels ready to create and express art.

Description of three chosen designs.

Nightclub lightening made of re-used materials.

1) Modern lifestyle is so fast and hard that sometimes we all need to change our mood and get a charge of positive energy. That is the reason of new nightclub and bar lightening creation. For this reason the most recent trends and current products were highlighted. The product represents an Essex traditional 19 century Baby’s growth found in Saffron Walden. It is important not only as a superb example of needlework skill, but also because the precise details of its making have survived. It can be seen as an artistic craft and the submissions displayed great virtuosity in materials and design. This lamp is made of re-used materials such as knitting yarn and christmas tree balls. The product is working together with the UV light as the balls are coloured with the fluorescent colour and are shining near the light.

The software: This is a photo of the prototype

Innovative electronic piano

2) The product is a new innovative electronic piano with the I-pad board. The idea of putting an I-pad into an electronic piano appeared because it is not comfortable to put a laptop on it and search for the notes. People do not want to print the music sheets all the time, then lose them and print again.
Moreover, it is not comfortable to change them during playing. The I-pad will save the time and paper and its screen makes the turn of sheets easier. In general, the piano is made in hi-tech style with certain rounded shape and brave interesting colour. It is made of plastic and finished with lacquer.
The I-pad fits to the special desk designed in piano, so it will be easy to take the I-pad out and use for another purpose.
The new product is made for certain audience and they are people who seriously plays piano in the professional level (attends music schools, conservatories, home writers-composers, personal tutor students).

The software: Autodesk Inventor

Children Vest-Bag

3) The standard backpack is causing many problems with the posture due to it's heaviness that is why this Vest-bag is specially designed for children from 5 to 12 years old. Weight is distributed on both sides of the vest so as to keep the balance, it also decreases the heaviness on shoulders. It is made of reflective neoprene and is also available in reflective nylon material. The product is totally waterproof. The front pocket is smaller than A4 format for books, diaries and rulers. Back side pocket is A4 size for books and A4 notebooks. It also has two pockets in front for pens and pencils and on the side there are 2 tabs to keep the vest stable and safe. In addition, it has a handle to carry it on the hook near the desk. The product looks very fashionable and covers current trends.

The software: Adobe Photoshop

Lesson 4

During the lecture we finally chose the final theme which is 80's.

After the lecture we had a group meeting where we divided our work between group members. My task was to contact local Radio stations and inform them about our exhibition.

I contacted Heart Radio, Essex Radio and Chelmsford Radio inviting them to the event.

On tuesday 21st february me and Helen are going to visit BBC Essex Radio to inform them personally as it is here in Chelmsford.

Symbols

The Circle is the most common and universal signs, found in all cultures. It is the symbol of the sun in its limitless or boundless aspect. It has no beginning or end, and no divisions, making it the perfect symbol of completeness, eternity, and the soul:

The circle is also the symbol of boundary and enclosure, of completion, and returning cycles.

Completeness: I am an adult person- complete person and all my skills represent the completeness of all the things I used to do in past and which formed my personality.

  • Cosmos (nature loving, analysing-(yoga, pilates, psycology, philosophy)

All these characteristics + the meaning of the green colour together make a good representation of my skills.

Business card design

Here are some more examples of the business card I recently made:

This week I had more time to spend on design. I thought the logo was quite simple, so I tried another example putting the picture of me. Also, I am using some signs of reuse, because I like to make my designs based on reuse of materials.
I think green colour suits me, as I checked the list of my skills and found that creativity (green colour) is a part of my skills, in many design projects I was doing reuse based designs and as I am trying to keep a healthy lifestyle, caring about the environment and also doing lots of different sports. I made a research on colours and found that maybe I could think about purple colour too, as it represents imagination and fantasy what is also a part of my skills, otherwise I could keep the green colour and try to express the other skills through the graphics, shapes and typos.

Here is the CV which would go together with those business cards.

Also another variant of CV.
